Book 1

Parker, a very purple penguin, does not understand why he is not accepted by his peers. How can they not like him, especially when he loves to do all the same things they do? Why does he get excluded by all the other penguins just because of the color of his coat? What can Parker do that will make the other penguins become his friends?

Follow Parker’s adventures as he faces the challenges of being different. What finally changes the other penguins’ perception of Parker? Read the story and discover all the things Parker did and what it took for the other penguins to understand the truth.

Winner of the Silver Feathered Quill Award (2021), Purple Dragonfly Book Award (2021), and Story Monsters Approved Award (2020), Parker the Purple Penguin explores themes that are relevant to all children-and even adults-such as embracing each other’s differences, empathy, and bravery.

Book 2

Your favorite purple penguin is back! Only this time there's a new hue in the spotlight.

Parker the purple penguin is out enjoying the day when he makes an unusual discovery. A few of the Arctic animals who are usually gray, white, or black are now blue.

What has caused them to change colors? Can Parker help them find their true colors again?

Parker Discovers the Blues explores some of the common feelings children—and adults—experience and shows how being a friend can make all the difference.

Kids love penguins and they will root for Parker the Purple Penguin. Marybeth Wishart has addressed bullying in a way that kids will understand…. I loved that Parker had to make a decision that was not in his best interests but would help someone else.
